Student Services

Bookstore

The seminary provides textbook services to the student at discounted prices. The Seminary will assist students in locating necessary reading books.

Employment

Immigration laws do not permit international students to work while studying in the United States. Work permits from Immigration Services are difficult to obtain and its application cannot be made until after at least one year of attendance at a school. Scholarship students who have regular income in the States will have their award reduced accordingly. Students may apply for a work permit for fieldwork after completing one year of study.

Health Insurance

Because of the high cost of medical treatment and hospital services in the U.S., all students must have health insurance. The Seminary pays for the health insurance of full-scholarship students, but not for their spouses or families. Insurance for non-student family members of any scholarship student is the responsibility of the student. Insurance plans at student rates are available through the seminary.

Student Government

Each year a specific number of students are elected by the student body to be its council. The Student council provides services to the student body in various capacities, including representing student opinion before the Faculty and Administration, organizing student activities, coordinating student involvement, and assisting spiritual formation in student life. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in student government.
