Introduction: Who We Are and What We Believe

International Theological Seminary can be distinguished by its name. It seeks to be an "International" Reformed school with a variety of students and professors from around the globe. The school's doctrinal position is expressed in the forms of unity accepted by the Reformed family of churches: the Westminster Confession, Belgic Confession, and Heidelberg Catechism. These confessional standards are basic to the seminary's life, thought, work, and spirituality.

"Theological" expresses the premium placed on intellectually superior education. The posture of the seminary is that effective ministry requires theological excellence

As a "Seminary" International Theological Seminary is a professional school. Experience and skill in ministering the Word are fostered by the seminary through diverse, intensive, and sustained practical education. The faculty has the responsibility for nurturing the students' ministerial abilities and assessing their development as whole persons. The seminary makes every effort to be faithful to all three dimensions of its name.

Statement of Faith

Each member of the Board, faculty, and staff of International Theological Seminary is required to subscribe to the following statement of faith which serves as standard of faith and practice of the ITS community.

We believe that the Bible is God's infallible written Word, uniquely inspired by the Holy Spirit, written without error, and that it is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

Instructed by these holy scriptures, we believe in the triune God, creator, redeemer and sanctifier; in the atoning death and victorious resurrection of Jesus Christ and his return to judge the living and the dead; and in forgiveness of sin, and the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, which is his body, composed of all those whom He has gathered to himself by his Word and Spirit since the beginning of the time, and that we are members of this church. To this church He has given the commission to go into all the world and make disciples of all nations.

We hold that this teaching is faithfully reflected in the Westminster Confessions, Belgic Confession, and Heidelberg Catechism.

By affixing our signatures to this statement we pledge to live and to teach in conformity with its affirmation."
